StarEnglish is a sequential and structured English program that focuses on the overall English literacy, primarily on the ability to read, spell, write and speak. In short, we are not only teaching our students the skills needed to be successful in reading, writing and spelling but also the skills to help communicate effectively.
How this program helps
Conducted in a small student to teacher ratio, your child will get the attention they need and deserve plus learning through a proven and tested program. We make learning fun and engaging for our 4 to 12 years old children.
These fun-filled interactive literacy and numeracy classes introduce sounds, letters, handwriting and basic mathematical concepts in a way that encourages stress-free, easy learning. Not only that, your child will also be exposed to social and emotional learning and follow classroom routine.
Program features
Our sessions are run in small groups by qualified and experienced instructors. Once children possess the basic literacy skills, this helps them to adjust to schools much easier and also develop the interest in reading more books!
Divided into different levels whereby our students can progress steadily in our StarEnglish program that encompasses lessons for pre-primary to Year 6. We work with students on vocabulary, grammar, fluency, comprehension as well as spelling and writing (narrative, persuasive, etc), which is an integral part of literacy learning.
StarEnglish Phonics & Reading
Our program will have a structured methodology that can assist your child to achieve reading at a young age. Our program helps young learners 3 to 6 years of age and teach them the skills needed to be successful in reading, writing and spelling.
StarEnglish Grammar & Writing
In this program, for children age 6 to 12 years old, we will also develop their comprehension skills through reading and answering questions, build up and develop their grammar skills and knowledge and finally develop our creative writing skills.
Having a great command of English grammar is pre-requisite to having good writing skills and our program helps children to achieve this. Depending on their level, our children will learn the various types of writing, namely expository, descriptive, persuasive and narrative.
StarEnglish Public Speaking
Our students will get to develop and polish their speaking skills. This skill allows us to communicate with others and express our thoughts and feelings. With guidance, our students will possess the ability to make speeches in public; in general allowing us to form connections, influence decisions and motivate change.
